I. CHILDHOOD

Born in the middle of October from a wealthy pureblood family in Bandoeng, Hendrik van Deventer was and has always been a bright young boy with many ideas and dreams. Even if Dutch blood runs through his veins, he still considers the Indies as his home more than anything. Coming from a family of politicians and lawyers like his father and uncle, Conrad and Hans Theodor van Deventer, it's no surprise that his family wanted him to enrol at AMSA and follow their footsteps.

II. TEENAGE YEARS

Just like boys his age, by the time he finally turned 12 years old, his parents decided that it's best to go back to the Netherlands. Not too keen on the idea of leaving Bandung at first, Hendrik finally accepted and they returned to Amsterdam to start his studies.

Although he thought he'd spend his days rather quietly with his lessons, it's quite hard to do so when you're roommates with R.M. Iskandar Prasetjo and Griffilioen Mirre. And practically impossible on some days. Over the years, the trio became best friends as they go through the ups and downs of school and teenage angst.

III. ADULTHOOD

While his friends and his schoolmates went down to the 'designated' civil-servant jobs that all AMSA graduates were expected to be, Hendrik wasn't quite sure if he'd be up for the public office. He drifted here and there quite a bit for a year or two before finally deciding to use his academic excellence and taught Law in his former school while doing some writing on the sidelines. Not only that, he decided to step up and be the head of the school duelling club.

AOUSTEN SAUVETERRE

Beauxbatons' philosophy professor that definitely caught Hendrik's eyes. Many see him as cold, intimidating, and emotionless but not Hendrik. The two started talking after an incident involving an AMSA student at a duelling tournament held in Beauxbatons. Although both insist that they're merely colleagues, they do see each other quite often.

An Indonesian native, member of the ICW, Director of Foreign Affairs for the Nederlandsch-Indië Ministerie Van Toverkunst and a Prince from the Yogyakarta sultanate. One of the most important people in the Dutch East Indies. Considered to be his first friend and roommate throughout their school years.
